Rodenburg Biopolymers is a trade name of RB Biobased Institute BV and  is a family owned company located in The Netherlands. The company’s main activities are development, production and sales of starch based products. Rodenburg focuses its business on high tech biodegradable biopolymer product range. These are patented bioplastics, biobased and/or biodegradable, suitable for conversion in standard conversion equipment such as Thermoform.

Rodenburg is certified with the quality standard ISO 9001-2000.As a company specialized in production of biodegradable compound, Rodenburg will be in charge of fibre based composite processing in the present business project.

FLHEA focuses on the upscaling and chemical modification of micro and and nanoreinforcements based in Hemp and Flax, and its subsequent processing to obtain new biodegradable composites with improved properties. This is an European project, funded by the 7th R+D Framework Programme of the European Union, led by the Packaging, Transport & Logistics Research Center (ITENE), within a consortium which also involves the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), Melodea, Rodenburg Biopolymers, Arctic Fiber Organoclick AB and Termoformas del Levante.
